As stated by the San Francisco Planning Department, “Windows are an integral part of the design and character of [a] building, and choosing appropriate replacement windows is frequently a critical aspect of any project.” We at AFR, Inc., while working closely with SF Planning Dept, will consult on the right selection of details, shapes, profiles, and methods of operation for your windows and doors to preserve the design and character of your building. We only use products that are pre-approved by the SF Planning Dept.
On this Franklin Street project, we replaced old, non-functioning windows with “Historically Accurate” new double-glazed wood windows. While keeping all of the character-defining window details and features, we were able to provide an energy efficient, sound limiting, and functional solution.
